The AMC (FGCU’s American Mathematics Competition) 10 competition will be held in person at FGCU. The content covers mathematics typically taught in grades 9 and 10, including elementary algebra, basic geometry (such as the Pythagorean Theorem), area and volume formulas, elementary number theory, and elementary probability. Advanced topics like trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry are excluded. Middle school students are welcome to participate as well.
Student Eligibility:
AMC 10: Students must be in grade 10 or below and also under 17.5 years of age on the day of the competition.
When: Students can choose the date that best fits their schedule.
The AMC 10A will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 beginning at 4:30pm.
The AMC 10B will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 beginning at 4:30pm.
